Industry seeing uptick in business

Louis and Beth Vann are just the kind of people whom San Diego moving companies have been hoping for.
Taking advantage of the three-day holiday weekend, the couple had most of their belongings loaded into a truck Saturday and moved from an apartment in University Heights to the house they bought a few miles away in North Park.
The real estate slump has kept many moving trucks idle for the past year and a half, but business has picked up considerably in recent weeks, said Steve Weitekamp, president of the California Moving and Storage Association. Link
