Contents home insurance protection is an important insurance product needed by both home buyers and property renters. Home buyers typically acquire contents protection as part of the standard home insurance obtained when buying a home. Building coverage, or replacement cost, is protection to cover damage or destruction to the actual physical building. Home buyers need this coverage to protect against loss of property. Contents coverage provides home owners protection against loss of personal property lost or damaged during an insured event.
While home buyers must incorporate contents coverage in their home owner’s insurance plan, renters must look to obtain contents home insurance on its own. Renters usually are not obligated to insure the building they live in as the landlord or owner protects the physical building. Renters do want to protect the personal items they maintain in the rented property. Insurance coverage for these personal items helps renters start fresh in the event their rental property is lost in a fire or flood, or similar event, and their personal property is destroyed. Contents coverage can provide for replacement or payout for furniture, jewelry, or other items of personal property.
Contents home insurance does not only protect against loss from a natural event or damage, it also covers items lost or stolen. This means that if a robber breaks into the home or rental property and steals items, the insured can get replacement coverage for the items.

An insurance payment protection policy can help an individual protect his credit rating in case of job loss or a serious accident or illness. Depending on the coverage, such a policy may also pay off certain types of indebtedness in case of death. It seems that people are very interested in these types of policies, perhaps because of the current economic situation. So many employees are fearful about losing their jobs that it’s only natural for them to look for ways to handle indebtedness. People are worried that a loss of income will result in bills not getting paid and that this will have an adverse affect on their credit rating. Scripture says: “‘Ye shall make you no idols nor graven image, neither rear you up a standing image, neither shall ye set up any image of stone in your land, to bow down unto it: for I am the Lord your God’” (Leviticus 26:1).
But how many conscientious people worship at the altar of the almighty credit score? Of course, they don’t mean for the score to be an idol, but too often that is what it becomes. A person is so afraid of a drop in the credit rating that he sometimes makes poor decisions just to keep that from happening. But fear isn’t a good reason for purchasing insurance payment protection coverage.
There are three major credit-reporting companies that keep track of consumers’ credit histories. Each one has its own unique formula for coming up with a number that represents an individual’s credit-worthiness the ability to pay back loans. The formulas include such factors as income, lines of credit, and payment history. A person’s score often determines whether or not she is eligible for the best interest rates when purchasing an automobile or a house.

There are a myriad of maintenance issues when an apartment is used as rental property. The owner must follow a strict set of guidelines and regulations to ensure that the apartment is kept to minimum health and safety standards.
One thing that the owner must ensure is proper safety features. All doors and windows must operate and secure correctly. Other items to be wary of is unforeseen damage left by previous tenants. Slow water drips, weak electrical outlets, torn vinyl flooring under appliances, and loose light fixtures all can be a rental issue.
Many communities enforce a set of minimum standards to landlords. Those codes are usually enforced by either the town’s health department or the town’s building enforcement officer. In many locales, it is illegal to rent an apartment without proper inspections and licensing. The penalty for doing so can include fines and other restrictions.
Apartment rental maintenance goes beyond the occasional tenant issue as well; on occasion, a landlord may encounter a tenant that does not fulfill the lease agreement and the apartment has to be remarketed. When this happens, an apartment has to be brought back into codes yet again.

In an area known for luxury apartments and plush, high-rise condominiums, living near Baldwin County’s beaches has become “dirt cheap.” Signs and billboards posted along Highway 59 in Foley and Gulf Shores are urging potential renters to check out unbelievable rent specials and deals at local apartment communities.
“My electric bill in December was 26 dollars,” says new apartment renter Charlie O’Neil. O’Neil just moved into the Columns on the Foley Beach Express in Orange Beach. “That’s unbelievable! It’s a big advantage for me to not have all those utility bills.”
Elaine Freeman manages the Columns, one of many luxury apartment communities offering “free” rent and other move-in specials. Freeman says the incentives will help struggling families and help the company financially.

If you have decided to relocate to a new state this year, there are a lot of things to think about throughout the process. A family with kids, no matter how old, will have to make some pretty serious adjustments in both attitude and lifestyle. If you are already starting to worry and stress out about this new transition, read on to find out some simple ways to make the transition smooth and easy for your family!
First things first; sit down with your kids early on to let them know of your plan to relocate. The more your children are able to involve themselves in the moving preperations, the better they will cope with the news. Be clear with them about the reason for relocating (new job, new opportunities, etc.), and answer any questions they may have with clarity and honesty.
when possible, let your kids have a hand in the choosing of a new home. Take them along with you when you start looking at possible homes, or let them create a “wish-list” of things they want in a new house. Also, try to look for advantages and opportunities in the new town that will be exciting to your young child or teenager. For example, a large mall or a school with a swim team might be just what your teenage daughter wants to hear.

Unfortunately the Unpacking Fairies have yet to arrive at Boyfriend’s new condo. He has been away all week and I originally planned on miraculously unpacking all his stuff for him by the time he comes home tomorrow night. Instead I mostly hung out at my apartment with the cat (who is still adjusting to being in a new environment – little does she know she will be moving again soon).
I did do some unpacking, however, and it has made me think about how much friggen junk people can accumulate over the years. Boyfriend, for example, has more pairs of socks than there are days in the year. He gets mad at me for borrowing them but honestly he seems to have enough to keep an entire soccer team going for months. He also has yet to part with many of the treasured “heirlooms” of his youth – a gigantic amplifier and bass guitar being the glaring example. He swears he will sell the amp and learn to play the bass, but we barely have time to play Guitar Hero lately so that remains to be seen.

So Dane Cook’s apartment complex in West Hollywood where he’s lived for the last 10 years is trying to evict him, because he reportedly lets his dog shit in the public courtyard and doesn’t clean up after it. Dane Cook says evicting him from the apartment once occupied by John Belushi would jinx his career. An excerpt from Cook’s filing:
“To live in the unit of one of the great legends was overwhelming and after moving in to that unit, I felt a creative drive that I had never felt before. It’s a little bit like the superstition that athletes have, before games, about a favorite bat or shoe, or the order in which they gear up; for me, this apartment has been the place where I’ve sat and worked on my comedy routines, and I can feel, and have felt, the presence of the true greats that lived there before me. It’s been a long road for me, in terms of developing my career as a comic, and the apartment is both a place of inspiration to me as well as a place where I go to feel connected to the source.”

Federal authorities are ramping up an investigation of a 20-year-old college student for allegedly hacking into Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin’s e-mail account.
The FBI searched the apartment of alleged hacker David Kernell on Sunday morning, and three of Kernell’s roommates could testify this week about the case before a grand jury in Chattanooga, according to local news reports.
After it was discovered that the Republican vice presidential candidate’s personal Yahoo e-mail account was hacked into, reports began circulating that the hack could be traced back to Kernell, a University of Tennessee student and son of Democratic Tennessee state representative Mike Kernell.

Police were called to the apartments about 2:30 a.m. and found the victim lying on the ground. He was taken to a local hospital and listed in serious-but-stable condition.
McCranie said the victim and the shooter might have been involved in a fight earlier that night at a local club. Investigators have interviewed witnesses and are processing physical evidence.

FBI agents executed a search warrant Sunday at the apartment of University of Tennessee student David Kernell in connection with the hack of Alaska Governor Sarah Palin’s private Yahoo account.
According to a witness, two FBI agents arrived at Kernell’s Knoxville apartment in The Commons student housing complex shortly after midnight on Sunday morning, interrupting a party.
Kernell and some of his friends reportedly fled when agents arrived, though the local TV station that reported the raid is a bit unclear about this detail. Other reports suggest he may have simply been upstairs with friends when the agents came. FBI agents asked partygoers who did not live in the apartment to wait outside while they photographed the residence.
