A guide to mortgage protection insurance

Filed under: insurance — admin @ 8:00 am

Mortgage protection insurance could make a great deal of difference to the outcome of your unemployment or incapacity. If you lose your regular monthly income your mortgage lender would still expect you to find the much needed money to service the repayments of your mortgage. Just one single missed payment would see them sending a letter reminding you that you have missed a payment.

If you cannot keep them up month after month then you will fall into serious mortgage arrears and the lender would want to see you. Of course the mortgage lender might give you some leeway and allow you time to catch up on the arrears. However without an income coming in on a regular basis this could be impossible and the next step could be repossession. With a policy behind you to rely on, you would at least have some money if not all, towards being able to maintain your mortgage repayments.

Mortgage protection insurance can be taken out to protect up to an agreed amount of the monthly mortgage repayment you make against the possibility of unemployment or incapacity. Unemployment could be by such as being made redundant and incapacity by accident or sickness. The provider would pre-agree with you the amount you wanted to insure and your premium, (which is how much you would pay each month for protection), would be based on this. The amount you insure would be paid back to you tax free each month for the term of the policy set out by the provider and this can differ with providers. Some providers could offer mortgage protection that would provide an income for 12 months and others might offer 24 months of protection.

Home Contents Insurance Protection Is A Necessary Expense

Filed under: apartment, insurance, jewelry — admin @ 8:00 am

Contents home insurance protection is an important insurance product needed by both home buyers and property renters. Home buyers typically acquire contents protection as part of the standard home insurance obtained when buying a home. Building coverage, or replacement cost, is protection to cover damage or destruction to the actual physical building. Home buyers need this coverage to protect against loss of property. Contents coverage provides home owners protection against loss of personal property lost or damaged during an insured event.

While home buyers must incorporate contents coverage in their home owner’s insurance plan, renters must look to obtain contents home insurance on its own. Renters usually are not obligated to insure the building they live in as the landlord or owner protects the physical building. Renters do want to protect the personal items they maintain in the rented property. Insurance coverage for these personal items helps renters start fresh in the event their rental property is lost in a fire or flood, or similar event, and their personal property is destroyed. Contents coverage can provide for replacement or payout for furniture, jewelry, or other items of personal property.

Contents home insurance does not only protect against loss from a natural event or damage, it also covers items lost or stolen. This means that if a robber breaks into the home or rental property and steals items, the insured can get replacement coverage for the items.

Insurance Payment Protection

Filed under: Moving, Storage, apartment, billing, insurance, local moving — admin @ 8:00 am

An insurance payment protection policy can help an individual protect his credit rating in case of job loss or a serious accident or illness. Depending on the coverage, such a policy may also pay off certain types of indebtedness in case of death. It seems that people are very interested in these types of policies, perhaps because of the current economic situation. So many employees are fearful about losing their jobs that it’s only natural for them to look for ways to handle indebtedness. People are worried that a loss of income will result in bills not getting paid and that this will have an adverse affect on their credit rating. Scripture says: “‘Ye shall make you no idols nor graven image, neither rear you up a standing image, neither shall ye set up any image of stone in your land, to bow down unto it: for I am the Lord your God’” (Leviticus 26:1).

But how many conscientious people worship at the altar of the almighty credit score? Of course, they don’t mean for the score to be an idol, but too often that is what it becomes. A person is so afraid of a drop in the credit rating that he sometimes makes poor decisions just to keep that from happening. But fear isn’t a good reason for purchasing insurance payment protection coverage.

There are three major credit-reporting companies that keep track of consumers’ credit histories. Each one has its own unique formula for coming up with a number that represents an individual’s credit-worthiness the ability to pay back loans. The formulas include such factors as income, lines of credit, and payment history. A person’s score often determines whether or not she is eligible for the best interest rates when purchasing an automobile or a house.

Moving Insurance

One of the most common and fatalest mistakes we make when moving is to underestimate the insurance coverage offered by movers. Often we check that the company offers insurance and then think it will cover us for any eventualities and forget about it. This can lead us to many problems.
While most moves are easy and free of trouble, accidents and damages to our property can be a real nightmare, therefore insurance cover is a vital part of the moving process since you risk losing or damaging your belongings with any right to compensation. There are two ways of ensuring adequate cover:

1. Ask your home insurer if your policy covers you during the move. If they do then check if there are any exclusions etc., and, if you don’t have cover for the move in writing, ask if they will provide you with a copy. If your insurer won’t cover you under your existing agreement or you are worried that the cover is inadequate ask if you can pay a premium for special short-term cover.

Protect Your Stuff: Avoid Moving Scams

Filed under: Moving, insurance, insurance protection, moving company — content @ 8:00 am

Take Action To Protect Your Possessions

When we move, we want the best movers we can afford. The easiest way to find them is to ask around. Who have your friends and family used? Did they have any problems? Does your Realtor have a recommendation, or the apartment manager? Word-of-mouth is generally the best bet for finding a reliable company. After all, your friends won’t point you to a company that treated them poorly.  It’s also worth the time to do a little due diligence — a little research. Call the local Better Business Bureau and check if anyone has filed a complaint against your company of choice. Google their names, as well, and add in your city to make sure you get relevant results. If you hear any bad news about a company, cross them off your list and move on to the next. You don’t need the worry of dealing with a company you know has had problems in the past.

10 ways to avoid moving scams

You’ve heard the stories. Movers load up your stuff one day and hold it hostage the next, demanding more money and threatening to dump your precious treasures if you don’t pay. You believe you’ve agreed upon a price, only to find out it’s going to cost you a lot more than that.”These salespeople are commission-based and will do whatever it takes to get a deposit on file and lock the customer into a signed estimate,” says Tom O’Gorman, sales director for Gentle Giant Moving Co. “Then, when push comes to shove, there’s a lot of gray area around this estimate.”They will say, ‘The estimate was based on moving only these things. You weren’t packed, so it took us four extra hours to pack.’”O’Gorman says some of these outfits give the impression that “you are dealing with a moving company, but you’re really dealing with an online broker who passes the job off to some local moving company in some region for a commission.  So you’re not even dealing with the end user. You have no control over who ends up in your home.”
